6 Month Pics (One Month Late)

I fell down on the job of posting pictures and updating the blog regularly. There really isn't a reason it's taken me so long to post pics, I've just been lazy. However, I did get a few cute pictures of Mia for her 6 month photo shoot and wanted to share them. I will post the adorable pictures of Mia at the pumpkin patch soon!

Mia is growing so quickly and starting to do so many new things. She is definitely at the stage where everything close to her mouth goes into her mouth including Mommy's chin and nose. She has also started to get two teeth! Mia still does not enjoy tummy time at all but we continue to encourage her to lay on her tummy at least a few times a day. I hope that at some point she will enjoy being on her tummy so she can start to scoot and crawl, but then I think maybe she'll be one of those kids who never crawls and just starts walking one day...who knows.

Beach Vacation

This weekend Mia went to the beach and "played" in the water for the first time. We took a mini vacation down to Padre for the weekend with Mimi, Papaw, Uncle Matt, Aunt Dawn, Levi and Jude. We had a great time watching Mia's reactions to the sand and waves. Mia also spent time in the pool and kicked her feet constantly while in the water...very cute!

Mia was a little unsure of the sand and water when we first arrived, but she didn't cry.

Road Trip

Last weekend, Mia and I went to Arlington for a few days. We had a great time with Nana and Grandad, but Mia was still not quite acting like herself. A couple of days before our trip, Mia started running a fever and was abnormally fussy. This is the first time Mia has ever been sick , but she slowly began to act more like herself (with the aid of Tylenol and rest). We enjoyed our time in Arlington and I know Grandad had a great time showing Mia her new Elmo toy!
(I think Grandad might have jumped the gun on buying this toy for Mia since she still has difficulty holding toys in her hands, but she seemed to enjoy watching Elmo talk and move.)
Mia and Nana...how cute!! (I think Mia is saying "Mom, would you stop with the pictures?!")
I love this stroller (it's a great way to help lull Mia to sleep while Mom exercises)! I just realized how the straps on the stroller appear and I promise they are not hurting her. She really is just asleep.

5 Months Old!

Mia is five months old today! I feel like I say this every month, but I can't believe how quickly time has gone. I still remember the pain of her birth and the joy I felt when I first held her. I guess that's normal since it really hasn't been that long since she was born, but so much has happened in such a short amount of time.

Mia is definitely becoming more vocal each day (no doubt she's found her voice) and each day seems to mark another milestone. She is rolling onto her side much more often, reaching and grabbing toys, taking her pacifier out of her mouth and trying tirelessly to put it back in. It's amazing!
Here are a few pics of 5 month old Mia!
